About Us

West of the Waves was born shortly after my son.  I needed a project to keep my active mind busy & with some encouragement from family I decided to set myself a challenge & open an online store.

The name “West of the Waves” is a way of describing two of my greatest loves.  I am a cowgirl but I absolutely love to surf.  Our family cattle station is located in Central Queensland and is quite literally West of the Waves – so it stuck. 

I have done everything backwards with this business.  I set up the online store, worked on the name and then found the products. 

As time has passed I have drawn on all of the skills I learnt in my previous career & I have developed a mission, vision & values for the business. 

Today I can confidently say that West of the Waves is all about a marriage of styles – beach & bush.  We offer a beautiful range of unique, quality made products & provide an excellent shopping experience to all customers, particularly those based in rural areas of Australia. 

The West of the Waves style is all about feeling glamorous after a hard day’s work.  Feeling like you are on holidays even if only for a few hours to refresh yourself before the next challenge. 

There is not much a gorgeous outfit, stunning pearl jewellery & a glass of champers can’t fix.
