For comparison I would usually wear a size 12-14 ladies top and the medium fits me nicely as an oversized comfortable T-Shirt. If I was going for a more fitted look I could size down to a small (photos of both options available)
My husband would normally wear an XL T-Shirt and the XL fits him comfortably.
